These three words are important in pretty much every single relationship you have! For some of us these 3 things may be easy to do with family and friends, but when it comes to venturing outside our safe circles it is harder to do. I am naturally an introvert. I mean, hello! I’m a Librarian! 🙂 That does not mean that I am socially awkward and can’t and won’t talk to people but it does mean that I have to make an effort to seek out, and actually attend, situations that I would not naturally gravitate towards. And you know what I have learned by doing this? It is never as bad as my introverted mind thinks it is going to be!
Connection, engagement, and encouragement is important in whatever profession you are in, and blogging is no different. In fact, it may be more vital than in some other professions. It can feel pretty isolating if you do not connect with your fellow bloggers and engage with them about your craft and then encourage each other to, “reach for the stars” and “keep going for your dreams!” Cliche sayings, I know, but so vital to keep us energized and motivated to learn more, try new things, and not give up!
I recently attended a Style Collective meet-up with a few of my local bloggers. If you are a blogger you need to go check out the Style Collective website and join! It is an amazing platform for female influencers to connect, grow, and learn how to be successful bloggers and entrepreneurs. This was my first blogger meet-up. I have only been blogging since July 2017 and had not yet had the chance to connect with any of my fellow bloggers to really hang out and talk. Boy, had I worked myself up the morning of the meet-up. I was nervous, feeling insecure, and had no idea what to expect. Sadly, all that working myself up did was waste valuable emotional time and energy because I had such a great time! I met some amazing, beautiful, authentic ladies and was able to learn so much from each of them sharing! An experience I would have missed if I had decided not to go. I would have missed all the chances we had to connect, engage, and to encourage each other.
It really reenforced to me the importance of connection, engagement, and encouragement! Don’t shy away from it, embrace it and look for it in whatever you do. Whether it is in your personal relationships or your professional ones. That connection you make with someone makes life so much richer and enjoyable! But don’t take my word for it, a picture is worth a thousand words!
A big thank you to Dashing Darlin for hosting, The Elizabeth Chronicles for letting us use their beautiful space, PJ’s Coffee for the coffee and goodies, Kendra Scott, Mignon Faget, & once again The Elizabeth Chronicles for the lovely gifts! And to Style Collective for creating a platform for us to be able to connect, learn, and grow!
