Waldorf Astoria Beijing Review

I love the Hilton Hotel chain! We always try to stay at a Hilton brand hotel when we travel and on our recent visit to Beijing, China we treated ourselves to the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Beijing.

There is a reason that Travel and Leisure magazine named it the best hotel in Beijing. The rooms are gorgeous, the service exemplary, and it is in the perfect location. Staying at a Waldorf Astoria is always such a treat for me and the one in Beijing met and surpassed my expectations! With only 176 room it has a very boutique feel to it and the decor and intimate atmosphere add to the luxurious feel. The details in the hotel really make it special. There are touches of Chinese character, like walls covered in silk, glossy lacquered wood, and artwork from artist Ling Jian. The result feels like the best combination of contemporary and traditional Beijing.

We were given an upgrade to a King Corner Premier Room, which has the most spectacular views, and ceiling to floor windows, even in the bathroom. The room can be controlled with a tablet by the bedside so you don’t even have to get out of bed to draw the curtains or turn off the lights!! They have Japanese bidet toilets that are HEATED! I arrived wondering why you would want, or need, a heated toilet seat and left wondering if I could get one at home!! Everything about this hotel screamed luxury and service. The room service was fast, accommodating, and friendly, even with the extensive language barrier. The front desk, concierge, doormen, bell boys, spa, restaurant, and shop staff knew your name by the second day, and again this was with the language barrier! The housekeeping was fabulous and attentive, and each floor was whisper quiet! Something you rarely get at a hotel! Even the 5 star ones! The pool and hot tub were exquisite and I could easily still be there lounging in the hot tub and steam room!

My picture highlights could never do justice to how truly lovely this hotel and staff were! Waldorf Astoria prides itself on offering what they call “True Waldorf Service” and the Waldorf Beijing absolutely embodies that statement! A big thanks to the Waldorf Astoria Beijing for the fabulous room upgrade and service!

The building was so beautiful at any time of day!

Gorgeous lacquered wood, silk wallpaper, and impeccably dressed staff were just a few of the stunning details in this hotel!

Artwork from artist Ling Jian was throughout the hotel!

Floor to ceiling windows with a drool worthy view! And don’t even get me started on the bed!!

I think I could get used to this!!

I felt like royalty!

The pool and spa area was exquisite!

I have a goal to stay at as many Waldorf Astoria’s as I can in my lifetime!!!

Up next, this November: The Roosevelt, New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel!

Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate it! xoxo
